lost: one small boy who sits quietly and plays

found: one small boy resembling the incredible hulk. he climbed, CLIMBED, the baby gate today, he's insisting on biting the glass top to the coffee table ( so we hopped over to home depot and bought foam insulation to wrap it with - which he ripped off of the table and is what he is swinging wildly in the picture), has decided he no longer will tolerate having his diaper changed (so we stopped at target and got a changing pad with a belt to "hold him " - he may as well have crawled away with the thing on his back like a turtle, a small, screeching, partially clothed turtle with a dirty diaper), he also suddenly has a 3 or 4 cup a day sippy cup habit. this has only perpetuated the diaper changing crisis. he ate his own dinner tonight - carrots, cheerios, cheese, chicken and stars - and then ate half of mine. he's decided suddenly that he detests being buckled into his car seat or stroller (just the act of the actual buckling itself) and tries to flip over during. also a nod to the diaper crisis. he been picking bits off the banana leaf ikea ottoman and snacking on them. we spent a few hours today reading books and he kept returning to the "d is for duckling" page of the alphabet book that was laying open and licking the fuzzy ducky down on the page. last night we went to the carnival and all he wanted was to eat grass. and pull the buttons off of his friend stella's jumper. and put his hands down my friend's dress. we
got him an ikea cart which he can pick up with one hand while it's full of books. he is such a BOY!
